Masterminds Education, which opened in Dubai in 2016, received the Most Nurturing Early Education Environment 2026 and the Child Development Excellence Award 2026 at the UAE Business Awards, according to a Gulf News report. The centre plans to reduce its maximum class size to 12 students for preschool through KG2 beginning in the 2026-27 academic year, with each class split into two learning groups of six. This structure addresses limitations in larger classes that often range from 20 to 27 children elsewhere, where teachers struggle to provide consistent individual attention.

The smaller groups enable stronger teacher-child relationships, quicker feedback, increased language exposure and more purposeful guided play, a Gulf News assessment found after reviewing the centre’s approach. Masterminds integrates cognitive science throughout its programme, including ongoing collaboration with researchers at the Wharton Neuroscience Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania. That partnership examines how attention, movement, language, music and social interaction influence long-term learning trajectories.

Curriculum elements at the centre combine English-led instruction with integrated Arabic and French language tracks, early literacy and mathematics focused on conceptual understanding rather than rote learning. Music education features Suzuki violin and piano lessons while physical development includes swimming, gymnastics, structured movement and foundational motor skills. Knowledge-building activities emphasise broad vocabulary, general knowledge and early thinking skills designed to support deeper academic work in later years.

Tania Siddiqi, director at Masterminds Nursery and Kindergarten, told Gulf News that children exposed to high-impact early education develop a vastly more connected brain with lifelong benefits for learning, achievement, emotional resilience and well-being. The centre’s model draws on more than 60 years of child development research blended with traditional wisdom to nurture intellectual, physical and social-emotional foundations in children aged 15 months to six years. Such integrated programming avoids treating enrichment activities as add-ons, instead embedding them into a cohesive daily schedule.

A World Bank analysis of global education investments has shown that quality early childhood programmes can generate returns as high as $17 for every dollar spent through improved health, education and productivity outcomes later in life. In the UAE, where private sector education providers serve a diverse expatriate population, demand for evidence-based early learning has grown steadily since the pandemic highlighted gaps in developmental support. Masterminds’ focus on groups of six aligns with that trend by prioritising conditions that cognitive researchers say optimise brain capital formation during the most rapid period of neural development.

The centre’s recognition at the 2026 business awards marks the 10th consecutive year it has been honoured across major regional programmes, Gulf News noted in its coverage. By maintaining small learning groups, Masterminds aims to deliver real-time emotional safety, earlier identification of individual needs and higher overall engagement without resorting to crowd management techniques common in larger settings. This operational choice reflects a deliberate investment in teacher capacity and child outcomes over scale.
