The UAE search and rescue team located six missing people in Nepal’s Trishuli area according to a report published by The National on September 10, 2026. The Emirati specialists joined forces with Nepalese authorities to carry out the mission more than two weeks after the floods began. The team which arrived on September 4 has focused its work in the Trishuli and Rasuwa districts north of Kathmandu.
Advanced equipment including drones for aerial imaging and three-dimensional mapping has supported the search and rescue operations in the challenging terrain a WAM briefing showed. These technologies have enabled the production of detailed surveys that accelerate efforts to access affected sites and locate missing persons. The approach has allowed daily field missions despite the difficult conditions created by the flooding.
Hammoud Al Afari director of UAE Relief Operations said the Emirati team was providing vital knowledge and expertise to Nepali authorities. He added that the group continues its missions in coordination with local officials while deploying its full range of capabilities to support search efforts. The team comprises members of the UAE Joint Operations Command Dubai Police search and rescue and the UAE Aid Agency according to The National.

Four UAE relief aircraft have transported a total of 186 tonnes of supplies including tents food shelter materials power generators and logistical equipment WAM figures show. Additional essential items have been procured directly from the Nepalese market to speed delivery to impacted communities. The airlifts form part of a broader $10 million relief package directed through the UAE Aid Agency.
A third relief plane that landed on September 4 carried 20 tonnes of aid along with the specialised search team Khaleej Times reported. Subsequent flights have increased the cumulative volume of assistance reaching Nepal. Operations continue in the affected districts as the UAE maintains its support for both search and rescue and humanitarian relief.
