The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) signed a funding agreement with Al Noor Center for the Blind that runs from 2026 to 2028 and focuses on acquiring specialized devices and technologies for visually impaired beneficiaries. The pact will also equip the center’s ophthalmology clinic with a medical device to enhance examination and eye care services. Qatar News Agency reported that the financial contribution aims to strengthen the overall quality of support provided by the center. Al Noor Center operates as one of the key institutions under the Qatar Foundation for Social Work.
Mishal Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, executive director of Al Noor Center, said in a statement carried by Qatar News Agency that the center values the collaboration with the Social and Sport Contribution Fund. “We value this collaboration with the Social and Sport Contribution Fund, which will contribute to strengthening the technical and medical capacity of the center, as well as empowering people with visual disabilities and improving the quality of services provided to them,” Al-Nuaimi stated. The partnership builds on the center’s ongoing work in rehabilitation and community integration for those with visual impairments. Similar cooperation agreements have been signed in the past, including one with Qatar University in January 2025 to deliver training workshops.
Yousef Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, director of shared services at DAAM, linked the agreement to broader national priorities. “This support comes within the framework of the Third National Development Strategy, whose objective is to empower priority care groups, including people with visual disabilities, and will contribute to the development of the services of the Al Noor Center and to responding to the needs of its beneficiaries,” he said according to Qatar News Agency. The fund draws its resources from contributions by companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange. This latest pact continues DAAM’s pattern of backing social initiatives across multiple sectors.
Al Noor Center has functioned as a leading Qatari institution for the rehabilitation and support of individuals with visual impairments for decades. The center provides a range of services that include assistive technology, educational programs and medical care. Qatar Foundation for Social Work oversees Al Noor along with several other specialized centers focused on vulnerable groups. Public records from the foundation indicate these entities serve thousands of beneficiaries annually through targeted interventions.
The agreement represents one of several funding deals DAAM has concluded in 2026 with social service providers. Earlier pacts included support for the Orphan Care Center Dreama in August and the Mada Assistive Technology Center in the same period, according to repeated Qatar News Agency dispatches. These partnerships typically span multiple years and target specific operational enhancements. DAAM was established in 2010 to channel corporate contributions into social, sports and cultural projects.
Officials from both organizations framed the deal as aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasizes inclusive development and support for persons with disabilities. The Third National Development Strategy identifies empowerment of priority groups as a core objective, with visual impairment support listed among key areas. Data from the Ministry of Social Development and Family shows a steady increase in programs addressing disability needs over the past five years. The new equipment and clinic upgrades are expected to expand service capacity at Al Noor Center in the coming years.
