Emirates NBD informed customers that it would remove several banking fees until March 31, 2026, according to a report in Gulf News. The measures eliminate charges on cash withdrawals from any ATM in the UAE or other GCC states outside the bank’s own network. The waiver also covers debit card replacement and delivery costs both locally and for international shipments.
The bank stated that the initiative sought to ensure uninterrupted access to cash and card services during the covered period. Transactions beyond its proprietary ATM infrastructure incur no extra costs under the program. Card replacement procedures, regardless of destination, fall fully within the fee elimination scope.
A UAE retail banking competitor benchmarking report positioned Emirates NBD as the market leader with nearly one third of deposits, loans and credit card segments. The group generated a record profit before tax of AED 16.2 billion in the first half of 2026, a 5 percent rise year on year, according to its financial results. Total assets surpassed AED 1.3 trillion at mid year.
Central Bank of the UAE data place the number of automated teller machines in the country at approximately 4,700 in recent years. This network highlights the potential scale of the fee waiver for both domestic and regional customers. Comparable customer relief initiatives have surfaced at intervals in the UAE banking sector as lenders adjust to prevailing economic and competitive dynamics.
The bank extended the fee waivers until June 30, 2026, according to a later announcement on its official social media channels. That update preserved relief on ATM withdrawals throughout the UAE and GCC alongside card replacement and delivery charges. Customers therefore continued to benefit from the measures past the original deadline.
Emirates NBD maintained its position as the top credit card issuer across the Middle East and Africa with 36 percent market share of credit card spend in the UAE, its first quarter 2026 results showed. The lender reported a common equity tier one ratio of 14.2 percent in early 2026. Such metrics have allowed the institution to introduce support programs including the fee waiver for its extensive customer base.
