Roblox has chosen Riyadh as the base for its new regional headquarters serving the Middle East and North Africa. The company said the facility will support Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to develop as a global gaming hub while nurturing local creators and developers. The decision received backing from the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia along with the Riyadh Creative District and the General Authority of Media Regulation. Officials positioned the headquarters as a long-term commitment that aligns directly with national efforts to expand the digital economy.
Saudi Arabia ranks among Roblox’s top-grossing markets in the region according to company data. Creator earnings within the kingdom rose 59 percent year-over-year the platform reported while global Roblox creators earned more than 1.5 billion dollars during 2025. The new headquarters aims to accelerate this growth by delivering localized resources and programming for Saudi developers. Such on-the-ground presence is expected to deepen engagement across education and gaming initiatives already under way.
The headquarters announcement extends a partnership Roblox established with Savvy Games Group earlier in 2026. That collaboration uses the Roblox platform to teach STEM skills to students creators and studios across Saudi Arabia the company noted. It includes dedicated developer relations expertise in-country along with workshops competitions and materials available through the Roblox Creator Hub. More than 719,000 students from 7,705 schools participated in the initial Play to Learn program run jointly with Savvy Games Group.
Mohamed El Sheakh the Roblox general manager for MENA and Türkiye described the Riyadh base as evidence of sustained regional investment. “Our decision to establish our regional headquarters in Riyadh is a reflection of Roblox’s long-term investment in Saudi Arabia and our commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s digital economy objectives under Vision 2030” El Sheakh said. He added that further programming will target education creator development and the broader gaming ecosystem. The executive expressed confidence that these steps will help Saudi Arabia achieve its goal of becoming a global hub for gaming.
HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation welcomed the company’s expanded footprint. “Roblox’s local presence represents the type of long-term investment that will help establish Saudi Arabia as a global hub for the gaming industry” the prince stated. His remarks followed the August 26 announcement and highlighted alignment with national gaming and esports strategies. The federation has worked to position the kingdom as a leader in interactive entertainment.
Roblox maintains engagement with regulators across the MENA region and Türkiye according to its public statements. The Riyadh headquarters will centralize technical support community building and training for local studios. Company officials indicated that existing initiatives such as the Incubator and Jumpstart programs have drawn particular interest from MENA creators. These efforts form part of a broader push to grow the platform’s footprint while meeting regional demand for digital skills development.
