The Dubai Land Department showcased Dubai’s unified approach to real estate market development during its participation in the PropTech Connect Europe 2026 event held in London, according to a WAM report issued on September 11. The department highlighted an ecosystem that integrates regulation, property registration, market data, digital services and artificial intelligence to support the full real estate investment journey. Officials engaged in multiple sessions, workshops and private discussions with representatives from the City of London while signing memoranda of understanding as part of the two-day programme.
Majid Al Marri, CEO of the Corporate Support Sector at the Dubai Land Department, joined a session examining how economic and geopolitical dynamics are reshaping real estate strategies, the WAM report stated. Al Marri emphasised Dubai’s long-term vision that rests on effective regulation, advanced digital services, reliable market data and robust public-private collaboration. The presentation positioned Dubai as an attractive destination for real estate investment underpinned by transparency and innovation.
Mohammed Yahya, Director of the Real Estate Transactions Department, took part in a panel exploring evolving expectations among buyers and investors, according to the department. Yahya presented the Initial Registration platform, which the Dubai Land Department launched on September 3 to combine project registration, real estate transactions and escrow account management into one digital process. The platform employs artificial intelligence and automation to reduce repetitive data entry, minimise document submissions and improve coordination among developers, the department and banks.
Talal Al Suwaidi, Project Manager at the Dubai Land Department, formed part of the delegation that included bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening international ties in the property technology sector, the WAM report noted. These engagements build momentum toward the second edition of PropTech Connect Middle East that Dubai will host on February 3 and 4, 2027. The current participation directly advances objectives set out in the Dubai Real Estate Strategy 2033 and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Dubai Land Department figures show the emirate’s real estate sector completed more than 270,000 transactions valued at 917 billion dirhams in 2025, marking a 20 percent increase in both volume and value from the previous year. In the first half of 2026, 104 projects worth over 111 billion dirhams reached completion, reflecting 38.7 percent growth in project numbers and 52 percent in value compared with the same period a year earlier. The First Property Ownership Programme has registered more than 45,000 participants and enabled over 3,200 residents to purchase their first home.
The Initial Registration platform provides developers with a consolidated view of projects and portfolios, including unit status, financial data and early warning indicators that facilitate timely intervention, a Dubai Land Department announcement from September 3 explained. Abdullah Ahmed Al Shehi, CEO of the Real Estate Regulatory Agency within the department, described the tool as an investment in sector efficiency ahead of further market expansion. The development forms part of wider efforts to deploy agentic artificial intelligence across half of government operations within two years under a national framework.
