Saudi Arabian Mining Company known as Maaden said in a statement that it completed arrangements for its inaugural international syndicated term loan and revolving credit facilities totaling $1 billion. The company reported that the facilities attracted strong support from leading banks across the United States Canada Europe China and Japan with demand substantially exceeding the targeted amount. Maaden added that the transaction diversifies its funding sources as the miner advances expansion across its operations.

The $500 million term loan will back Maaden’s growth agenda and general corporate purposes including projects in its various business segments according to the company’s announcement. A matching $500 million revolving credit facility is expected to stay undrawn providing extra committed capacity for the company’s long-term strategy. Maaden stated that the oversubscription underscores global financial institutions’ confidence in its direction.

Chief executive Bob Wilt said the strong international demand for these facilities reflects the confidence global financial institutions have in our strategy and our long-term growth ambitions. He added they strengthen our ability to deliver projects that will unlock the kingdom’s mineral potential and support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 ambitions. Wilt’s comments appeared in the statement released by Maaden on August 24 2026.

Maaden is majority owned by the Public Investment Fund and plans to deploy $110 billion over the next decade to expand its mining activities AGBI reported citing company disclosures. Government estimates place the value of Saudi Arabia’s undeveloped mineral resources at $2.5 trillion according to figures cited in Arab News. The new facilities align with broader efforts to develop the sector as part of national economic diversification.

In connection with the transaction international law firm Baker McKenzie advised Maaden on the successful closing of its USD 1 Billion Inaugural International Term Loan and Revolving Credit Facilities the firm noted in its own release. Maaden’s announcement did not detail individual bank commitments or legal advisors beyond the overall participation. The deal represents the miner’s first syndicated borrowing from international markets.

Maaden reported a 16 percent year-on-year rise in second-quarter revenue to $2.9 billion while net profit attributable to shareholders reached $600 million Arab News said citing the company’s results. Fitch Ratings affirmed Maaden’s long-term issuer default rating at BBB+ with a stable outlook in an assessment issued the previous month. The company maintains substantial liquidity including undrawn credit lines that complement the new international facilities.
