The service allows a specialised medical team to attend a scheduled appointment at the applicant’s residence to conduct the complete medical fitness screening required for residency visa renewal. This approach removes the obligation for residents to travel to medical fitness centres while preserving all established examination standards.
Teams from Wiqayati preventive health centres perform the screenings in line with approved health protocols and rigorous safety requirements, EHS stated. Applicants then obtain their medical fitness outcomes through SMS or email messages. They may advance the residency renewal via standard official platforms without returning for in-person medical steps.
EHS has restricted the offering to residency renewal submissions for the time being, the organisation reported. The program constitutes one component of expanded digital health and smart government strategies intended to heighten convenience and cut wait times at public facilities. Gulf News noted that the service particularly assists residents facing mobility limitations or tight professional timetables.
