The National Centre of Meteorology reported that convective clouds are expected to develop over eastern areas of the UAE this afternoon, bringing rain to Fujairah and Kalba as the five-day forecast period begins. According to the authority, similar cloud formations could lead to scattered showers in southern and inland regions on subsequent days. Temperatures across the country are set to moderate into the mid-30s Celsius, offering some relief from the recent hotter conditions.

The NCM assessment found that humidity will increase during nighttime and early morning hours over coastal and internal areas. This rise in moisture raises the probability of fog or mist formation in cities such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which could impact visibility for residents. The authority has noted that these conditions have been recurring in recent forecasts as the weather pattern remains unsettled.

In an update published by Emirates 24|7, the NCM indicated that the weather will generally be fair to partly cloudy with chances of rain focused on the east initially. Over the weekend, the forecast calls for continued afternoon cloud development that may produce rainfall in northern and eastern parts of the country. By early next week, the precipitation chances are anticipated to extend toward southern zones according to the five-day outlook.

The National Centre of Meteorology figures show that average rainfall for October stands at 5.2 millimetres across the UAE, with the current forecast suggesting amounts slightly above that level as reported by Gulf News. A separate assessment based on WMO climatological normals compiled from National Center of Meteorology data places Dubai’s average October rainfall at 1.5 millimetres. Weather records maintained by the authority indicate considerable variation during the month with the heaviest October rainfall on record at 139 millimetres in Al Shuwaib in 2016.

The authority’s figures place average daytime highs for this time of year around 35 to 38 degrees Celsius in coastal cities, consistent with the current projections. Winds are expected to remain light to moderate but may freshen during periods of cloud activity, potentially raising dust in exposed locations. Mariners and drivers should take note of possible reduced visibility from both rain and fog over the coming days.
