Lifecycle Software detailed the launch of its compliance-focused service in a statement released this week, targeting operators grappling with new rules around billing, digital payments and financial reporting. The UK government has assigned the Bank of England a fresh objective to foster innovation in payment systems and digital money while safeguarding financial stability, according to the company’s assessment. Legacy BSS systems frequently struggle to incorporate these requirements without major overhauls, prompting the need for more flexible alternatives that Lifecycle Software says its solutions can provide.

The company’s real-time business support systems and online charging systems are built for agility in the face of regulatory updates, Lifecycle Software said in the statement. These platforms allow operators to modernise billing and payment processes while converting compliance demands into operational strengths. The service builds on the firm’s three decades of experience in telecom software, offering automated workflows that reduce manual interventions and associated risks.

Lifecycle Software’s Telecom Regulatory Outlook for 2026 and 2027 outlines a series of impending deadlines that will test operator readiness across multiple areas. The DMCC Act, anticipated in spring 2026, will impose stricter rules on subscription contracts to eliminate traps through mandatory transparency and simplified cancellation procedures, the report states. The PSTN and ISDN switch-off to full All-IP operations carries a final deadline of January 2027, while aspects of the Telecommunications Security Act require strategic implementations by March 2026.

Automation features within the platforms reach 99.95 percent of transactions, according to Lifecycle Software data, supporting revenue assurance and real-time charging to limit fraud and leakage. The NEXUS MVNE platform, first introduced to accelerate MVNO launches, incorporates elements that align with these compliance needs through integrated customer management and provisioning tools. Operators using the systems have reported high efficiency, including ratios of more than 19,000 subscribers per employee at clients such as SMARTY.

Liz Parry, CEO of Lifecycle Software, has previously highlighted the value of future-proof designs in discussions with Capacity magazine in November 2025. She noted that reduced MNO interest in direct MVNO management has opened opportunities for specialised platforms to handle day-to-day operations directly with virtual operators and aggregators. The approach also extends to eSIM integration and data protection measures that are expected to tighten further under upcoming rules.

The company maintains partnerships with major UK players, including a decade-long collaboration with Three that began with the NEXUS platform rollout through Three Wholesale. Lifecycle Software’s statement emphasised that its solutions help turn regulatory adaptation into a competitive edge rather than a burden. Additional features address consumer protection enhancements and security standards outlined in the 2026 outlook report.
