Al Ansari Financial Services said in a statement that the group continues to strengthen its cybersecurity and fraud-prevention capabilities as it expands digital financial services and more customers transact across technology-enabled channels. The investments cover identity verification, real-time threat detection, fraud and transaction monitoring, and enterprise-wide security controls. These elements form a central component of the group’s digital strategy that supports secure scaling of its platforms while protecting customer information and reinforcing operational resilience.
The group’s security framework encompasses strong identity verification, authentication and access controls designed to protect customer accounts and sensitive information, according to the announcement. It includes continuous monitoring across transactions, networks and technology infrastructure to identify and respond to potential threats. The company regularly tests these controls through independent assessments.
Bruno Lopes, group chief technology officer of Al Ansari Financial Services, said in the statement, “Cybersecurity requires continuous investment because the risks do not remain static.” Lopes added that the approach combines identity and access controls, preventive safeguards, continuous monitoring and rapid-response capabilities across the group’s technology environment. He noted that the group complements these controls with customer and employee education, recognising that effective security depends on both technology and awareness.
The announcement arrives as the group has recorded sustained growth in digital activity. Group figures from the first quarter of 2025 showed digital channels contributing 24 per cent of total outward remittance transactions, a 16 per cent year-on-year increase in the number of such transactions. Al Ansari Financial Services reported that this growth stems from customer preference for the convenience, speed and reliability of its online and mobile services.
Al Ansari Exchange, the group’s main subsidiary, passed the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard validation for 2024, a prior company release stated. This certification requires meeting strict requirements for data protection, encryption, vulnerability management, access control and network security. The validation highlights the group’s focus on maintaining high standards of data security across its operations.
Al Ansari Financial Services operates as the largest non-banking financial services provider in the GCC with more than 280 branches nationwide, according to company information. The group processes over 50 million transactions annually across its branch network and digital channels, with digital platforms generating roughly one-quarter of total volumes in recent periods. Officials have positioned cybersecurity investments as essential to sustaining customer trust built over more than 60 years in the market.
