The Ministry of Justice inaugurated the enhanced platforms during a ceremony in Doha, The Peninsula Qatar reported. Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi oversaw the event and noted that the upgrade implements directives from the Prime Minister to leverage digital tools for improved government efficiency and public services. The systems bring together official legislation, court rulings, legal opinions and international agreements through interconnected databases that employ modern classification methods along with artificial intelligence under safeguards to preserve reliability.

The revamped Official Gazette now operates as the primary authoritative channel for published laws in electronic form. A ministerial decision issued this year established procedures for authenticating digital versions in accordance with the 2016 law governing the publication. The platform enables faster consultation of legal texts and any subsequent changes, building on more than six decades of continuous operation since the inaugural issue appeared in 1961.

Al Meezan functions as an encyclopedic legal resource that links raw legislation to its interpretive and practical dimensions. Ministry of Justice figures show the portal holds more than 9,659 legislative instruments, 3,758 judicial rulings and 709 agreements. The database supports seamless navigation for legal professionals, researchers, businesses and ordinary citizens who require accurate information.

Both platforms are accessible in Arabic and English to individuals and organizations alike, with built-in features that meet disability accessibility standards. The launch aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Digital Agenda 2030, which Oxford Business Group data indicates targets QR40 billion in ICT contributions to non-hydrocarbons GDP by 2030. Separate assessments place the share of digitized Ministry of Justice services near 97 percent, reflecting sustained progress in remote handling of legal and real estate procedures.

The development emerged from coordinated efforts among the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the National Planning Council, the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, and the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. It creates an approved avenue for public comments on draft legislation to inform ongoing legal evolution. Earlier AI applications in the legislative process, a Gulf Times review found, have already shortened review cycles from 35 days to roughly five while retaining full human oversight.

The initiative extends elements of the Ministry of Justice Strategic Plan for 2025-2030 that prioritizes technology across judicial and administrative functions. Officials described the combined resource as a step toward greater legal transparency and a more supportive environment for investment through readily available, credible information. The platforms replace earlier iterations with improved search capabilities designed to reduce time spent locating relevant statutes and precedents.
