A 60-member international delegation visited the Supreme Court of India ahead of the forum’s start Live Law stated. Delegates toured the National Judicial Museum and Archive along with other court facilities before an interaction with Justice Surya Kant. The inaugural plenary session focused on rule of law in a multipolar world and building legal capacity for economic resilience.
The Bar Association of India hosted the 11th BRICS+ Legal Forum under the theme of rule of law frameworks and institutional capacity building for economic resilience innovation and sustainability according to Live Law. The programme included discussions on climate finance developmental justice arbitration artificial intelligence governance and international investment law. The closing session is expected to adopt a declaration and form working groups to guide the next forum.
This gathering builds on prior judicial cooperation steps including a June 2026 memorandum of understanding between the Supreme Courts of India and Russia that Live Law has documented. That agreement covered exchanges between judicial academies joint training research collaboration and sharing of best practices.
