A joint statement from Boerse Stuttgart Digital and tradias on August 5 2026 confirmed that the two companies had closed their merger after completion of the ownership control procedure. The transaction establishes a fully regulated one-stop shop for cryptocurrencies and digital assets spanning the entire value chain from trading and custody to staking and tokenization. The new entity operates as a dedicated business unit within Boerse Stuttgart Group under the Boerse Stuttgart Digital name while tradias serves as the trading brand. Headquarters are located in Frankfurt and Stuttgart with additional sites in Athens Beirut Berlin Dubai Madrid Milan and Ljubljana.
The combined unit is led by a joint management team drawn from both organisations. Christopher Beck from tradias and Dr. Ulli Spankowski from Boerse Stuttgart Digital were named Co-CEOs. Roman Schmidt from tradias takes the role of Chief Commercial Officer while Jan Munz continues as Chief Operating Officer and Dennis Winter as Chief Technology Officer. Michael Reinhard from tradias assumes the position of Chief Digital Assets Officer and joins the Group Executive Committee of Boerse Stuttgart Group.
Boerse Stuttgart Digital runs the largest crypto and digital assets business among European exchange groups and offers modular institutional-grade trading and custody solutions that are MiCAR-compliant. Tradias functions as the institutional crypto trading partner for leading European banks and brokers enabling more than 30 million customers to trade over 150 cryptocurrencies and other digital assets directly through their banks. Institutional clients of the merged entity include DZ Bank and the cooperative banking group DekaBank and the savings banks Intesa Sanpaolo and Societe Generale-FORGE as well as flatexDEGIRO dwpbank and various government institutions across Europe according to the announcement.

In a separate announcement on August 13 Baker McKenzie said it had advised Tradias on all legal aspects of the deal including governance qualifying holding procedures under MiCAR KWG and WpIG with BaFin and Deutsche Bundesbank following required shareholder approvals.
